Can't keep calm because Navratri is here!

One of the most important festival of India is here! The Navratri has begun people! For those who don't know what does this festival signifies ,, here is a little information:

Navratri word can be divided in two words as Nav(Nine) and Ratri(nights). Navratri literally translates to nine nights and it denotes the duration of the nine nights this festival is celebrated, with it's conclusion on 10th day that is called as Dushera. This festival celebrates the nine form of Hindu goddess "amba" and the form "durga" represent them all. So the main reason it is celebrated because it marks the victory of goddess Durga over the Demon Mahisasur. Also Dussera celebrates victory of Lord Ram over the Demon king Ravana.

This festival is celebrated all over India and it is done with different cultures too. For example the eastern India gears up for the "durga pooja" festival which is the same as Navratri but here the prime deity is the Goddess Durga. The idol shows goddess killing the demon. It is one of the major festival of the eastern Indian people , especially the Bengali. Grand "pandals" are made for your joy and they are simply breathtaking...

The western India celebrates this festival a bit differently. They worship goddess "amba" as the prime deity. This festival is celebrated especially by the Gujarati community. The "garba" is worshipped as the form of the goddess here. Now most of you must be knowing that garba is name of a dance form. But it is in fact name of the Kalash(pot) which serve as the form of goddess "amba". So during the festivals, devotees circle around the holy pot or the "garba", thus this dance form has also become synonymous with the name of the pot.

 This is not it! The whole country gears up for the dusshera by the end of the navaratri! This is day is also celebrated as "vijaya dashami". The demon king Ravana's effigy is burnt on this day which stand for it's teaching of "good always triumphs bad".

With all these different kind of celebration going on all over the nation, one of the most grand celebration is done in the south Indian city of Mysore. The Mysore palace is illuminated on this day and many age old rituals involving the royal family is still carried out with lots of fanfare!

There is so much to look forward on this days. Be it devotion to the goddess or the vibrancy of the festival, Navratri keeps you involved all 10 days! You may hang out in the pooja pandal or brush your dancing skills in Dandya raas or simply treat your taste buds with all the delicacies made, this festival has got something in store for everyone!

6 Reasons why you should start maintaining a diary:

Dear diary readers,
As we are turning more gadget obsessed day by day, we are sure forgetting little pleasures of life. It is really hard to see Kindle take over books and Evernote replacing the colourful paper reminders. 


Maintaining a journal or a diary is also becoming some rare practise as people don't find time to put pen to paper. But according to my opinion everyone should maintain a diary.. here are the reasons:

1. Clears your confusion:
Do you have some dilemma in life? You have to take a decision that you are not able to make? I am sure  writing your ordeals in a diary  will definitely give the answer because it makes your mind cool and relax!

2. Personal therapist: 
Whenever you will low in life or depressed, just pour your heart out to the diary. Trust me, no human can help you in much better way than your personal diary. Somewhere along your life you may even loose people who are close to you. But those humble pages of diary will never leave you.

3. Save most important days and feelings.
Want to remember when you saw your crush for the first time. Do you want to remember how you felt on that day... note it down in your diary! Noting down dates is not just for commemorating those days but it is for the times ,when after  years you will flip those pages of diary .You will remember how you felt on that day and  trust me that's going to be pure bliss!

4. Improve your communication:
One of the added benefit of writing diary, improves your writing skills. You won't hesitate to write a letter or essay! You can count it as bonus that comes with maintaining diary  

5. Stress reliever:
 Feeling upset or angry. Want to kill someone but the law doesn't permit you. Just use your diary as your stress reliever! Trust me, whether it is to bitch about someone or plot against them! No place is better than your secret diary who actually keeps secret...which brings me to my last topic .

6.Secret keeper:
There is a reason why personal diary is called secret diary at most times. All our secrets are stored in it , making our friends and siblings curious every time we start flipping it's pages. You all must have heard that story where the life of the king was stored in his parrot and when that secret was out , the king was killed easily.As dear was the parrot to the king, same is the case with me and my personal diary. So don't forget to invest in a diary which comes with a lock!

Top 7 Disney Animated Movies You'd Love to Learn From

Disney movies have always set milestones in movie making. Not only for its effects, background scores & sound but also for its unique story-lines that has always touched our hearts. Be it fairy-tales or real-life based stories, there are more than few times when we badly wish they were true.





Now, From my wide collection of Disney Movies here are few which have taught me the biggest lessons in life than any person or event ever(Psst! They're the most-watched movies by me as well!)
  1.  

     The one-of-a-kind movie that changes your perception about your own emotions. A perfect blend of Drama, Reality, Comedy & with a sprig of Fantasy, it's just the long needed break. The #1 most talked-about movie in 2015 with an IMDB rating of 8.5, it would reshape your mind-frames and take you to a new dimensions; it's a must-watch for everyone!
    And for those wondering if it's too kiddish, lemme ask, Did you think the same for 'Frozen'?
 2.  
        
A story about Sibling love, friendship and determination, this would surely swing your best mood on. With almost 8 on 10 rating on IMDB it's a movie that would get you on the loop. Happening to have the best soundtracks in any Disney movies ever, it would moisten your eyes with a frizzy grief and an intense joy..My Favorite dialog : " Some Friends are worth to be melted for.."

With the story set on earth when humans have abandoned it because of trash, it's about a robot named Wall-E. Well, even though people thought it would be another of some sci-fi fantasy with no emotions at all, but don't we just judge everything too much? Actually, being exactly the opposite of what it seems in the first place; it's one of those one-of-a-movie which would make you cry and laugh the same time. Story about love, human ignorance & obviously robots it's bound to make you care about everything around a bit more than you already do right into the core; even Earth! With an imdb rating of 8.4, it's gripping effects & sarcastic scenes would keep you tight in your seats. My Favorite Fun scene in the film when Wall-E teaches EVE to dance! And not to forget the lovely end credits, that completes the storyline too :)

 Well, here's another movie that's too good to remain unseen when it comes to best animated disney movies. It's a movie that has touched hearts & made all of us have that one adventure that reminds our childhood! A movie about dreams, hopes and innocence it would please every age equally. With an imdb rating of 8.3, having a sweet ending is bound to make your day! My Favorite Idea in the movie: A floating house with millions of Helium Balloons attached to it! Beat that!

One of the most-talked-about movie in Disney World of Movies, which itself is a legend. It created many phenomenons and ideologies which are familiar to people all over the world. A story about Parental love, loss & love that's bittersweet as a melody and would be etched in your sub-conscious forever. With an IMDB rating of 8.2 and a beautiful background score, it's a Never-Ever-Miss movie for all! My favorite dialog in the movie: " Just Keep Swimming!"

Monsters Inc. an idea that's based upon our childhood tales told by our grandparents, is with a twist on roll. A story about the Monster world and how dependent they are on us, takes you on swipe when it shares the same affection, emotions & fears as the human world. The movie is utterly witty & cute at the same time would make you wish to come true. With an imdb rating of 8.1, it would be as bad as crime to miss this movie. My favorite Funny part in the movie is when they disguise Boo as a little monster to keep from the eyes of Waternoose

The Third movie of the Toy Story series tells us about that never-ending friendship saga that survives through every turmoil and never gets backseat even there's that 'Life or Death' situations. Through the minds of the toys which are long-ago forgotten and god forsaken, it teaches us the true morale of life that often takes ages to seep into our hearts. With an imdb rating of 8.4, this time Buzz & his friends go on a never-before journey to start a new life with cuteness, love & a home. What more, Watch it to know it, how it goes along. My Favorite dialog in the movie: "So long..partner" by Woody!


Well, here's what I have as my Go-To when having a day under the weather or perhaps when I end up in a mess clueless. These movies are more of a family to me, right from the top of the sequence to the end they're whom I've grown up with. Each one's too special and has taught me things about life, which I couldn't learn from books or situations. That's Disney Fellas!

World Egg Day: 11 Reasons to Be an Egg-itarian

Which came first- The Egg or the Hen? Even though it's quite a known Brain Teaser, but believe me once reading the following facts about eggs you would be more interested in eating them; rather than paying heed to anything else.


  • First, Eggs are the best source of Choline(various quaternary ammonium salts, used in synthesis of components in the cell membrane) High-quality protein(required for Body health & composition) Vitamin B12(Helps in Production of elements of DNA, RBCs, Regeneration of Bone-Marrow), Phosphorous(helpful in Bone Formation, Teeth, Spinal cord health) & Riboflavin(or Vitamin B2, required daily dosage as cant be stored in body & helps in energy production) So, if anybody who goes with at least a single (large/small) egg everyday(even the controversies about it are silenced forever by BMJ journal) could keep both the Diseases and the Doctors away!
  • For people who're calorie-conscious or cholestrol-conscious, bury your worries as Eggs are low in calories & saturated fats that fills up for the essential nutrient-filled foods that go missing in our breakfasts, according to Dietary Guidelines Adversary Committee Report, 2015
  • Eggs can also be good for your eyes, as showed in a study in 2013 published in journal 'Lipids' that whole eggs can increase levels of HDL(good) cholestrol and allow the HDL molecules to function more properly. Increase in Lutein & Zeaxanthin keeps your eyes healthy!

  • According to an animal study announced by the American Chemical Society, eggs contain a peptide called RVPSL(a component of Protein) found in egg-whites that reduces blood pressure as much as a low dose of Captopril, a high-blood-pressure drug. It blocks angiotensin converting enzymes, produced by the body & increases blood pressure.
  • According to an animal study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Choline is important for pregnant & breast-feeding women as it provides brain & memory development to the infants. Also, according to University of Rochester Medical Center, consuming choline during pregnancy and through lactation may increase a child’s immunity to stress-related illnesses and chronic issues, like hypertension, in the future. This is because increased amounts of choline changes the gene expressions for releasing cortisol — a hormone associated with stress-related and metabolic disorders — in the fetus. 
  • Choline might also be helpful in preventing Heart diseases, Inflammation & Breast Cancer according to the review published in Nutrition Reviews.
  • The British Journal of Nutrition study says, more than 2,000 adults in their 70s found positive associations between increased choline and better performances on cognitive tests of perception speed, cognition, sensory motor speed and executive function. 
  • For Dieters, it's an excellent food option as a low- calorie food and reduce the risk of obesity and maintain a healthy body BMI; According to studies published by Journal of the American College of Nutrition & the International Journal of Obesity 
             While the eating of eggs should be preached and not treated as a threat, but eating it in the right way matters. For the Diabetics, consult or discuss about the consumption quantity & frequency before getting-on with it; while eating it with Ham, Bacon, Cheese could add up to the saturated fats. Cooking it properly till the white & yolk parts stay firm reduces the risk of Salmonella infections.
         Fair more reasons to celebrate this day with an egg; or rather a golden egg that keeps you healthy obviously!

Modern Family Season 7: here is the reason why you need to watch it NOW

The season 6 of the famous American sitcom, Modern family , ended in a cliffhanger. I waited for 4 months to know whether Andy will get back with Haley. So when the show premièred this fall, I rushed to watch it. The first episode was bit boring, mainly because they were trying to cover a long duration of time and it lacked the funny one-liners. The Andy -Haley story has been to put on side track now because Dylan is here!!( Now designing T-shirts :D). The second episode brought the fun back in the show and the third episode "the closet case" was one of the best episode in a long time. 
So far the funny liners have been coming from Cam and Mitch only
here is one of my favourite part:
Mitch:Okay, guess what. I just got an offer to handle a case.
Cam:Good, because I think this cereal is mostly sawdust.
Mitch:It is great, it's just there's,um... slight complication.
It's for Closets, Closets...
Cam:I don't like where this is going.
Mitch: ...Closets...
Cam: Don't say it.
Mitch: ...Closets.
Cam: **gasps**
Mitch:What did you think the last word might be?

Modern Family has become one of those shows who is now heavily relying on old jokes and development. As I ROFLed while watching the above scene, any new viewer won't get that joke.
And that is it's problem. 
But it again had a big LOL moment when Jay used the word "deal" as a reference for his ...umm.. "deal". This episode also brought back the emotional quotient which was lagging. It was good to see horny Luke stay back to comfort Alex , who was struggling with her break up with Sanjay.

From the last season, I'm feeling Sofia Vergera and Ed O' Neil are being under utilised. This season too has not seen much funny story involving them. Gloria's fascination with the American and their foot fetish was really funny though.

Modern family is getting predictable now a days but it has got something really special which make us tune to it every week. I have to agree on one fact though , it's joke may rely on older development but it is not stale at all!! It does put a big smile on my face for the 21 minutes of it's run time and that is what make it stand out apart!
As far as the story development is concerned,,, Andy and Haley fought because of Andy thought Haley was going to break his engagement. Mitchell is struggling to find a new job. Alex left for college and is now dealing with a heart break. Phil and Claire are struggling with the idea of their kids growing up and letting them go. Jay and Gloria are trying to find good school for Joe , while Manny and Luke are struggling with high school.

    • Try cutting off the unnecessary carbs & fat and concentrate more on proteins, fibres & vitamins. Leafy vegetables, Salads, Chicken Broths, Fishes cooked with low oil and spices, Sprouted Lentils, Bean sprouts can enrich your proteins & fibre,  while Tomatoes, Strawberries, Oranges can actually help reducing your fat intake while cutting them off with their high citrus content
